Disturbia-Rihanna *CONNECTION*

uh...this song reminds me of when you have a nightmare and you want to come out of it, but you can't. It's like arguing with someone and you change your whole emotion, coming from happy to syco...idk

KALSKAG GRIZZLIES

This year we have 13 girls on our team thats a lot than we had last year and the year after! We had only 5 girls in basketball and 6 girls in volleyball...and it was hard to be eligible, mostly when theres no extra players. But this year, we are going to start a j.v team for volleyball since we have enough girls for 2 squads. That is gonna be so cool! This picture is gonna be filled pretty soon!

A Picture Worth a Thousand of Words

Left to Right: Patricia Holmberg, Ariel Ramadonic, ME, Evonda Williams, and Shannon Sergie.

We were walking up Kalskag Hill on our last day of school. That was tiresome day ever but it was awesome!
It was a sunny day and was pretty hot but cold if you are trying to get past a big blanket of snow. We only had shoes on and lots of snow would just start leaking in everytime we took a step. We reached the top of Kalskag hill. Its not like everyday you get to see the entire world everyday so it was a good view from a high spot, especially when theres sunny days with blue skies. We stayed there for a while then we headed down the steep hill. It was hard getting down then it was going up because once you go down, your like a four wheeler going full speed and ending up wrecking. We stopped at a pile of snow, it was a like the " largest slide in the world" almost. We had to take a break from trying to tumble down the hill and we ended up sliding down these piles of snow. IT WAS SO COLD! We didn't brought a sled, instead we sat down and just bust out a trail in the snow. At the end we were so soaked and we been walking to the school all wet!
I ought to say, that was the most Funnest day ever! Sliding down a hill in the start of spring when theres still snow and sitting down using no sled is not normal! Thats what makes things so fun!

Local Schools more populous than expected

What do you know about this topic?
What I know about this topic is that there are students and their families moving to Anchorage to for jobs and school letting there be a cause of gas prices rising.
What do you think of it?
I think it is a big issue because they were wondering about migration and the cost of fuel and more and more people coming from different places increasing the population in Anchorage.
Do you agree with the author?
I agree what the author, people are coming all over the bush to go to Anchorage for a higher education and parents going in for a better job. And when more and more people drive into Anchorage , it makes the gas prices higher when lot of people are buying gas to go in the city
What is your opinion on this article?
Since we are living in the Bush , I know how these families feel, they want to more education for there kids because there are some schools with students that have a lack of education and they want to make it better for them and also for the parents finding a good job. There was a student here at GMSHS that went to Anchorage this year to go to school and she is a junior.

Summary:

Anchorage Schools are getting more populous with students coming from the Bush to Anchorage for high education, also with families coming for high paying jobs. There’s 48,320 students in 100 schools and they are expecting more. People are driving to Anchorage, buying gas, which is causing the price of fuel to get higher. They are spending a lot of money for new teachers to teach lot of these kids.

My reaction to something in the news

ARTICLE: Ike makes landfall in Cuba as category 3 hurricanes

What did I learn?
I learned that the Hurricane Ike strucked Cuba.
What do you think about what the author was saying?
He was locating where the Hurricane Ike hit and made a landfall in Cuba on Sunday. The author was describing the damage that was caused from the hurricane, they were thinking it might be the 3rd major storm or might be a false alarm that the hurricanes going to Louisiana, but they were still recovering from the Hurricane Gastav. They were also talking about evacuating the state and that people should be prepared.
Do you agree/disagree?
I think the author is right, the people should still be prepared even though they don’t know if the hurricanes coming of not.
